Lang Gothic is a multipurpose sans-serif typeface made in the gothic genre – historical American sans-serifs that have personality but don’t draw too much attention to themselves. It is made as a companion to AT Lang, which is a type family derived from a surprisingly friendly, semi-slab style of lettering in 19th-century grave carving found within the Green-Wood Cemetery of Brooklyn, New York. Lang Gothic is something of a “Text” adaptation of Lang, excluding serifs, reducing thick-thin contrast, and simplifying letterforms to create a workhorse sans that is at once warm & direct. As such, Lang Gothic excels at medium to small sizes, but it has enough presence and sturdiness to hold its own when used at larger sizes.

Prerelease Info AT Lang Gothic

AT Lang Gothic is a prerelease family: you can get it today for a discounted price, and you will receive free updates as it grows and improves in the future.

Why call it a prerelease? There are still things being actively figured out and worked on, and it is subject to design changes in future version updates. But, it is available now because it offers a lot of value already. We also believe that often, the best way to learn is by working in public. In that spirit, if you have any questions or ideas, please reach out!

If you would like to see further details and follow the project, check it out on Future Fonts, a fantastic service for finding and supporting prerelease fonts from amazing designers.

You can buy AT Lang Gothic here or from Future Fonts – either way, you will ultimately be buying the same fonts and Licensing. On this website, you can buy either the the full family or individual styles. On Future Fonts, you can buy only the full family, but the upgrade experience is a little more streamlined.
